The world is undergoing a profound phase of transformation in which traditional drivers of growth are being durably challenged. The multiplication of geopolitical tensions, the return of power politics, trade wars, the politicization of economic rules, and mounting climate pressures have made uncertainty a structural feature of the international system. Growth no longer unfolds in a predictable environment; it now operates in a fragmented, unstable, and highly competitive world.
In this context, growth can no longer be understood as a purely quantitative objective or as the mechanical result of financial flows. It requires clear strategic choices, solid economic architectures, and durable frameworks of trust. More than ever, the challenge is not merely to finance growth, but to structure it, in order to transform risks, constraints, and disruptions into levers of resilience, sovereignty, and competitiveness.
This is precisely the ambition of the Global Growth Conference (GGC) 2026, held under the theme "Structuring Growth: Turning Uncertainty into Opportunity", taking place on May 20–21, 2026, in Rabat.
Building directly on the successful relaunch of the GGC in 2025, this edition marks a deliberate step-change. It reflects a shift from an approach centered on financing instruments toward a more structural reflection on growth platforms, value chains, productive capacity, and economic sovereignty.
The GGC is fully embedded within the ecosystem of platforms developed by the Amadeus Institute. It is conceived in strategic complementarity with the MEDays Forum. While MEDays provides a major space for geopolitical analysis, strategic narrative, and Global South influence, the GGC positions itself as an operational platform dedicated to structuring growth, high-level economic dialogue, and the transformation of ideas into concrete solutions. Together, these two flagship events form a coherent continuum—from vision to action.
In this perspective, Africa and the Global South emerge as key spaces of strategic recomposition and growth potential. Yet this potential can only be realized if growth is deliberately designed, organized, and anchored in clear structural choices, productive investment, and balanced partnerships.
Backed by the enlightened Vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, by its political and institutional stability, and by its strategic position at the crossroads of Africa, Europe, and the Atlantic world, Morocco stands out as a trusted hub for growth structuring.
Faithful to the Amadeus Institute's DNA—Thought for Action—the GGC 2026 is conceived as a platform for anticipation, structuring, and impact, serving sustainable, sovereign, and inclusive growth capable of turning uncertainty into strategic opportunity.
The 2026 edition will bring together more than 100 high-level speakers and over 1,000 participants from more than 50 countries, including heads of government, ministers, senior institutional leaders, private investors, economic operators, and international experts, to engage around strategic issues for Africa and beyond, within a framework that promotes structuring, decision-making, and impact.
Strategic sessions and institutional roundtables will articulate long-term vision, economic sovereignty, and resilience challenges, enable the confrontation of public policies, the sharing of best practices, and the identification of convergences around shared priorities.
Targeted discussions, as well as B2B, B2G, and G2G tracks, will facilitate exchanges between governments, investors, financial institutions, and economic operators, with a view to concretizing partnerships, structuring projects, and long-term investments.
Dedicated spaces for decision-making and announcements will enable the presentation of initiatives, the signing of agreements, the formalization of cooperation frameworks, and the announcement of high-impact projects.
GGC is a place where growth is structured—not merely debated.
Structuring growth means organizing the interactions between public policies, private investment, financial institutions, and productive capacities in order to create ecosystems capable of withstanding shocks and capturing opportunities.
In this perspective, the role of States is central in setting direction, ensuring stability, and defining the rules of the game.
The role of financial institutions is decisive in channeling flows toward structuring, long-term projects. The private sector, in turn, is called upon to move beyond opportunistic approaches and to engage in strategies of sustainable value creation, aligned with national and regional priorities.
Morocco occupies a singular place in this reflection. Drawing on its political and institutional stability, long-term vision, and geostrategic positioning, the Kingdom no longer limits itself to being a hub of attractiveness.
It is asserting itself as a hub for structuring growth, capable of articulating capital, talent, infrastructure, standards, and partnerships in the service of Africa and the Global South. GGC 2026 fully intends to highlight this role by making Rabat a space for reflection and action on the new architectures of growth.
The overarching theme of GGC 2026 is articulated around five strategic axes, drawn from the draft program and designed to cover all the key levers for structuring growth in a fragmented world.
Axis 1 – Economic Sovereignty & the Global Rules of the Game
In a context marked by trade wars, fragmented trade flows, and the return of bloc dynamics, the ability to master the rules of the economic game has become a central challenge. This axis examines the normative, regulatory, and trade power of States, as well as their capacity to defend their economic interests in a competitive and unstable environment.
Axis 2 – From Finance to Investment Platforms
Beyond traditional financial instruments, sustainable growth depends on the ability to structure investment platforms. Fintech, blended finance, sovereign wealth funds, and development finance institutions are called upon to play a key role in channeling capital toward structuring, productive, and resilient projects.
Axis 3 – Production, Value Chains & Reindustrialization
The reconfiguration of global value chains requires a strategic trade-off between trade and production. This axis explores strategies for reshoring, industrial upgrading, and local value creation, within a framework of productive sovereignty and long-term competitiveness.
Axis 4 – Energy, Resources & Strategic Growth
Energy and natural resources have once again become central drivers of power and growth. Energy security, transition pathways, access to strategic minerals, and resource sovereignty now condition States' ability to structure autonomous and sustainable development trajectories.
Axis 5 – Morocco as a Hub of Trust and Growth
This axis highlights Morocco's role as a platform of stability, attractiveness, and influence, at the crossroads of Africa, Europe, and the Global South. It analyzes how the Kingdom can continue to structure partnerships, attract long-term investment, and assert itself as a trusted hub in a rapidly changing world.
